Toronto vs. Sacramento
The Toronto Raptors are experiencing something they've never experience before - hope. With Chris Bosh, Andrea Bargnani, and Jarret Jack playing better every day, Toronto is on their way to the playoffs. Today was more of the same.
Toronto took the initiative early with a 26-footer by Hedo Turkoglu and a 3-point play by Chris Bosh. Tyreke Evans and the Kings managed to rally by halftime and sliced the lead down to 3. In the 3rd quarter, Guard-Forward Donte Green hit 3 consecutive 3 pointers for Sacramento (shades of King James?), and Sacramento took a 3-point lead.
Guess who steps up for the Raps? I'll give you a hint. His initials are C.B. Chris Bosh made a couple of clutch layups, and Andrea Bargnani made a 3-pointer to increase Toronto's lead to 9 with about 3 minutes left. Sacramento never rallied back. A great display by the Raptors, who are now at 27-22 and have great chances to reach the playoffs.
Boston vs. Orlando
Didn't they just play? Yes, they did, but Dwight Howard didn't taste enough Boston blood. He needed more. And he got more. The first half was all Celtics. Rajon Rondo swished a 3 (always a good sign), and Paul Pierce played very well. But in the 3rd quarter, things went terribly wrong for the Celtics. Carter hit a 3, Lewis hit a 3, Nelson got a few jumpers, and suddenly things were tied at 60. Then Mickael Pietrus came on, and Orlando started getting bucket after bucket, while Boston could not organize anything. The 3rd quarter score? 35-11...
Boston could never rally back, although they did cut the lead down to single digits with a minute remaining.
So, a fun NBA day, and more success for the Toronto Raptors and a much-needed win for the Magic.
